I decided to do a little comparison based on our house which we purchased in April 2008, through Bulgarianrealesateonline.com, one of the four companies I have compared. It's common for a vendor to have his house on with many agents, unlike in the UK. It it gives them a better chance to sell their house. There's nothing sinister in doing this at all. Unlike in the UK the vendors set their own price for the property, using surveyors or valuers is unusual. However the Agent can guide the vendor towards a reasonable price based on the current market. It has been known, however that if you like a house and show an interest in it, the vendor may increase the price! Trust your Real Estate Agent to do all the hard work for you and secure your house at the best possible price for you the buyer. Although many agents may have the same house on their books, there's only one set of legal paperwork, and once your deposit is paid, you cannot be 'Gazumped', and no one else can make an offer on that house. Once started, the buying process is much safer than buying in the UK. As you can see by the comparison three of the Estate Agents are not very forthcoming with their Information, This makes me a little bit suspicous as to actual charges once you show an interest in a property.Jeanette
